Mr. Roy Bruce Wooten, 79, of Jasper, TN died Monday, September 10, 2007 in a Chattanooga hospital.The son of the late Roy Harrison and Bettie Irene Lawson Wooten, he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jasper and attended the Jasper Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a former employee of Vance Furniture in Jasper, Hamilton's Home Appliance and the owner of Bruce's Discount Sales in Jasper.He is survived by his wife, Carol Carter Wooten of Jasper; children, Marcella Wooten of Chattanooga and Alan Bruce Wooten and wife, Melanni of Greenbriar, TN; granddaughter, Harley Rae Wooten; grandson, Colton Tanner Wooten; sister, Betty Wooten Richardson of Vidalia, GA; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be conducted from the Jasper Chapel on Thursday, September 13, 2007 at 2 PM CDT with Reverend Wayne Thomasson and Reverend Jim Styers officiating. Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 12, from 5-9 PM CDT at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper.The family requests that memorial donations may be made to the Jasper Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
