Doris Ruby Ball, 81, of South Pittsburg, TN, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024 in a healthcare facility.

Doris had a reputation for being a dedicated helper.  Family members and friends have noted her willingness to lend a helping hand wherever needed.  Miss Doris came to Signature Health Assisted Living facility in March of 2003, and had been the "life of the party".  She has been an active participant in church, Bible study, social gatherings, Bingo, coloring, crafts, and nail care.

Her two greatest passions were gardening in the community garden in the courtyard of Signature Health and taking care of the cat "Baby" at the facility.

Her daily smile warmed the hearts of everyone around her.  Doris had been deaf for several years, but never let that stop her from being a blessing to others.

Miss Doris also made gifts for everyone at the holidays and hand delivered them to each resident and staff member.  Elders and Staff alike have voiced their appreciation to her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Newton Ball and Sally King Ball, Brother, Ben Carter, John Wesley Carter, Billy Bogoe; sister, Myrtle Phillips.

Doris is survived by one sister-in-law, Louise Cater, and nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at City of Scottsboro, Alabama Cemetery with Ronnie Case officiating.

There will be no public visitation at the funeral home.

The family would like to give a very warm and special thank you to Signature healthcare staff at South Pittsburg for all the care and love that has been shown, Doris over the many years. She loved everyone at Signature Health center.
