Ruby Payne Brown, 85, of the Sweetens Cove Community in South Pittsburg, TN died Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at a local hospital.
She was a member of the Richard City Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She and her husband owned and operated Brown Tree Service for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Roy and Elizabeth Gibson Payne; husband, James I. Brown; their son, James I. Brown, Jr.; brother, James Leonard Payne; sisters, Frances Layne and Jody Chance.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Brown Wilson of South Pittsburg, TN; grandson, James Ivan Brown, III "Butch" (Mary Frances) of Kimball, TN; granddaughter, Cheri B. (Ernie) Haskew of South Pittsburg, TN; great-grandson, Chris Brown; great-granddaughter, Kellie (John) McLemore; two great-great grandchildren, Craig Brown and Adelyn McLemore; sister, Katherine P. Smith of South Pittsburg; brother, Billy Payne of Orlando, FL; several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that donations be made to Richard City Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 1706 Marion Avenue, South Pittsburg, TN 37380.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, November 25th at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg from 6-9 PM CST.
Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, November 26th at the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 1 PM CST with Rev. Cliff Hudson and Rev. Glenn Brister. Interment will follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper.
