Sammy Jane Mayfield, 67, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee died Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at her home.

The daughter of the late John D. and Nadine Gibson Mayfield, she had worked for the South Pittsburg Hustler and the Chattanooga Times-FreePress. She was a member of Holly Avenue United Methodist Church and was very active in their food pantry ministry.

She is survived by numerous cousins and friends.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am Central time on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball, Tennessee.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 from 4:00 - 9:00pm at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg, Tennessee.
