Mr. Samuel Newton Johnson, 66, of South Pittsburg, TN died in his home on Thursday, March 22, 2012.

Preceded in death by his parents, James L. and Martha Coffelt Johnson, Samuel had lived in South Pittsburg and Jasper, was a 1966 graduate of South Pittsburg High School, was a long-time employee of Lodge Manufacturing Company and had attended Hales Chapel Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James "J.C." Johnson and sister, Elsie Wynn.

He is survived by his sons, Samuel Newton Johnson, II of New Hope, TN and Stacy Johnson and James O. Johnson, both of Jasper; sisters, Maggie Hall, Ellen Smith and Lana Johnson all of South Pittsburg and Geraldine Blevins of New Hope; brother, Shirley Johnson of New Hope; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 2pm Central time with Rev. Joe Moore officiating.
Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Rogers Funeral Home on Saturday, March 24th from 6-8pm Central time.
