Samuel Edward Murray, 78, of South Pittsburg, TN, died in a local nursing home on Monday, August 9, 2010.
One of nine children born to the late Henry and Allie Patsy Crowe Murray, he served the US Army during the Korean Conflict and worked in the maintenance department for the South Pittsburg Housing Authority. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris M. Murray, sisters, Bessie Lou (Joe) Ladd, Norine McCall, and three brothers, Henry Thomas Murray, Everett Murray and Johnny Murray.
He is survived by his daughter, Connie M. Hall of South Pittsburg; son, Samuel Edward Jr. (Lisa) Murray, of Jasper, TN; five grandchildren, April (Donnie) Dalton, Carlene Holcomb, Nick Holcomb, Hunter Murray and Cory Murray; three great-grandchildren, Maddi Dalton, Javen Talley and Ashlyn Smith; brothers, Clarence (Mary) Murray and David (Shirley) Murray; and sister, Margie Green, all of South Pittsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg on Thursday, August 12th at 1PM Central time, officiated by Reverends Ronnie Case and Ron Moreland.
The family will receive friends at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg on Wednesday, August 11th from 5 to 9PM Central time.
