Samuel Ewing Smith, 71, of South Pittsburg, TN died Sunday, December 25, 2016.

Sam worked for Paul's Food Market in South Pittsburg for 18 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Ewing Smith, Jr. and his grandparents, Ewing & Nora Kate Smith and James Houston & Frances Walker Chance.

He is survived by his mother, Mildred Chance Smith of South Pittsburg, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret & Don Elledge of Kimball, TN; nieces, Melissa Moss of South Pittsburg and Julie (Chris) Sartorius of Fuquay/Varina, NC; nephew, Todd (Paula) Elledge of South Pittsburg; great nieces and nephews, Lauren (Chandler) Tygard, Jesse Elledge, Ethan Moss, Jordan Elledge, Katie Sartorius and Keegan Sartorius; great-great-nephew, Camp Tygard; many cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 1:00pm Central time on Thursday, December 29, 2016 with Rev. Bruce Potter officiating. Interment will follow at Patton Annex Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home from 11:00am until service time on Thursday.
