Sandra Bishop Holton, 69, of Marietta, died Thursday, June 6, 2013.
A native of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, Mrs. Holton had lived in Marietta for 46 years. She held a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and a Masters Degree in Education from Georgia State University. She was retired from the Cobb County Board of Education, having taught at Blackwell, Powers Ferry, and Big Shanty Elementary Schools. She was a member of the Professional Association of Georgia Educators, the Retired Educators Association, and Mount Paren North Church of God.
Mrs. Holton is survived by her husband, Melvin Clark Holton of Marietta; son and daughter-in-law, Donald Eugene and Sharon Lynn Holton of Alpharetta, GA; brother and sister-in-law, George Blaine and Sally Bishop of Knoxville, TN; sister, Carole Bishop McNabb of Kimball, TN; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and visitation will be held in Marietta, Georgia, conducted by Marietta Funeral Home.
A brief graveside service will be held at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Tennessee at 2 pm Central time on Saturday, June 8, 2013 with interment immediately following.
