Sarah Lee Hale Pickett, 81, of Jasper, TN died at her home on December 22, 2011.

Born into a family of five children, daughter of the late Fred John Henry and Johnnie Mae Kendrick Hale, Sarah was educated at McReynolds High School in Marion County, TN, attended business school for two years and was a member of the Belmont Primitive Baptist Church in Victoria, TN. She was a clerk for the Tennessee Department of Human Services for 18 years before she retired in 1992. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul A. Pickett; sister, Mary Elizabeth Patrick; her son, Timothy Clark Pickett and her brother, Dennis Hale.

Mrs. Pickett is survived by her children, Paul Allen Hale (Bessie) of Jasper, TN, Sarah Ann Hale Hill of Sumter, SC, Jerry Leverne Hale (Wanda) of Chattanooga, TN, Michael Louis Pickett (Nita) of Jasper, Deborah Louise Pickett Starkey (Perry) of South Pittsburg, TN and Delphine Pickett Simpson of Jasper; 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Naomi Pickett (William) of Jasper; brother, Fred Lewis Hale (Alline) of Jasper; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 11 AM Central Time, officiated by Elder Thomas McAfee. Interment will be in Anderson Cemetery in Jasper.

The family will receive friends at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper on Monday, December 26, 2011 from 6 - 8 PM Central Time.
