Sarge (Arnold) Parker
April 3, 1935 – October 3, 2026
South Pittsburg, Tennessee
TSGT, Sarge (Arnold) Parker, age 91, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
Sarge proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force for 21 years before retiring. During his military career, he spent much of his time serving in Europe and Southeast Asia.
Following his military retirement, Sarge continued working in the Chattanooga area. He worked as a supervisor for Salem Carpet and later worked part-time with Gentry Chevrolet, Moss Motor, and Prebul Jeep before retiring for a second time.
Sarge had a lifelong passion for automobiles, especially Corvettes. He enjoyed working on cars and could often be found spending time pursuing his love of automobiles.
He is survived by his daughter, Kim Parker of Kimball; grandson, Zach Edwards (Samantha Turner); and his precious great-granddaughter, Taytum Edwards.
Sarge was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Lee (Mable) Parker; stepson, Charles Edwards; and his stepbrothers and stepsisters.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to special friends Karin and Brian Tetter, who brought happiness, love, care, and friendship to Sarge during his final weeks. They also wish to thank Sterling and Sally Lund, who were always willing to visit, lend a helping hand, and be there whenever needed. And especially Samantha who always made him eat, take his medicine and listened to his stories.
Sarge will be deeply missed by his family and friends and lovingly remembered for his service to his country, his love of automobiles, and the many lives he touched throughout his years.
A graveside service with full Military Honors by the United States Air force will be held at 1:00 p.m. (CDT) on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at Chattanooga National Cemetery, 1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, Tennessee with Pastor Ronnie Case officiating.
The family will have a private visitation prior to the graveside service.
Mr. Parker will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Mabel Parker at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, Chattanooga, Tennessee.
