Shelby Kennemore Newsom, 59, of New Hope, Tennessee, died Tuesday, April 17, 2018.

She was a loving mother and caregiver for her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Philip "P.J." Atwell.

She is survived by her parents, Philip and Barbara Haley Kennemore, of New Hope; son, Calvin Atwell, of New Hope; grandchildren, Chase Atwell, Sarah Atwell, and Cortney Atwell, all of New Hope, and Abby Allison, of Bridgeport, Alabama; brothers, Roger Kennemore, Randy (Joann) Kennemore, and Trace (Tracey) Kennemore, all of New Hope; nephews and niece, Randall, Cade, and Cassidy; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 3:00 PM Central time. Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 1:00 p.m. Central time until time of service.
