Rev. Sherman L. Lackey

Rev. Sherman L. Lackey, 65, of South Pittsburg, passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021.

He was of the Holiness Faith for forty years and the pastor of Richard City Holiness Church.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He was an electrician by trade for forty years and a member of the IBEW Union.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Fred L. Lackey; father-in-law, William E. Wilson, grandparents, Elray and Gladys Lackey; Robert Walls and Lorabelle Yates; bonus granddaughter, Jennifer Bishop.

He leaves behind his wife of forty- eight years, Kathy M. Lackey. His three daughters; Katelynn Penny (Lebron) Shrader and Samantha (Billy) Ruder, as well as bonus daughter, Cynthia Burton; brother, Winfred (Tamela) Lackey; niece, Tonya (David) Brewer, and great niece Harmony, grandkids, Saylor, Addison, and Hannah, bonus great grandkids, Jaycob, Grayson and Natalie, Morgan, Will J. and Maddie also, Papaw's baby Graclee; bonus grandson Chris (Kayla) Keough.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 9, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, August 10, 2021 from 10:00 to 12:00 (Noon) prior to the funeral service in the chapel.

Final resting place will be at Gunter Mountain Perpetual Care Cemetery.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 (Noon) on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 in the chapel of Rogers Funeral Home, South Pittsburg, officiating will be Reverend Bill Scott and Reverend Kerry Furgerson.

Pallbearers will be David Brewer, Paul Wilson, Chris Robinson, Jeff Haynes, Jacob Picklesimer, and Terry Smith.

Honorary Pallbearer, George Hambrick.
