Mr. Shirley H. Johnson, born February 21, 1935, passed April 5th 2015.


The son of the late James and Martha Coffelt Johnson, he was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and retired from Cavalier Corp after 40 years of service in various positions with the company. He was a member of the Teamsters Union for 40 years and was also a proud veteran of the US Marine Corps.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Mary Moore, two brothers, J.C. and Sam Johnson, sisters, Elsie Wynne and Ellen Smith; granddaughter, Sabrina Hayes.


He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gracie Reynolds Johnson of South Pittsburg; four children, Roger (Connie) Johnson of Powells Crossroads, David (Connie) Johnson of Bryant, AL, William (Debby) Johnson of South Pittsburg, TN and Kathy (Mike) McGraw of Kimball, TN; 8 Grandchildren; 7 Great-grandchildren; sisters, Lana Kay Johnson, Maggie Allen and Geraldine Blevins all of South Pittsburg, TN; several nieces and nephews.


The family would like to thank everyone who has reached out to them during this difficult time, especially Amedisys Hospice for their wonderful care.


Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 2 pm Central time on Thursday, April 9, 2015 with Rev. Sam Whited officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery.


Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5-8pm and on Wednesday from 5-8pm Central at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
