Guild, Tennessee

Shirley Ann Leiderman Kilgore, 85 of Guild, Tennessee passed away peacefully at her home on November 18, 2025.  Shirley is survived by her two daughters, Pixie and Lisa Kilgore, several nieces and nephews, special friends, Ann Buffington, Brenda Hutchins, and Janie Gudger, special neighbors, Jack Owens and Ruben Prince, and many close family friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. (Shadetree) Kilgore, her parents John and Addie (Epperson) Leiderman, brothers Billy Joe and John Clifford (Sam) Leiderman, special friends Aaron Lawhorn and David (Lurch) Thomas, and pets (Missy, Hobo, Spike & Dusty).

Born on February 21, 1940, in Vulcan, Tennessee, Shirley graduated from Marion County High School in 1958.  She had perfect attendance from grammar school through high school.  She was employed by Combustion, The Johnson Company, Stower's Machinery, and Conoco.  She worked tirelessly to take care of her family, and always had an open door and a meal for those just hanging out, or those who asked her for help or just needed someone to talk to.  She worked closely with her husband for 41 years implementing many household projects, repairing VW engines and building several three-wheeled motorcycles through Shadetree & Shirley Enterprises.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. (CST) at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Ronnie Case officiating.

Mrs. Kilgore will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, James E. Kilgore, at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Jasper, Tennessee.

There will not be a public visitation. The family will visit at the cemetery.

Pall Bearers will be Jason Kilgore, Bob Kilgore, George Wilson, Terry Coffelt, Butch Reeves, Mike Davis, Alex Davis, Perry Davis and James Whitmire.  Honorary Pall Bearers are Frank Davis, David Thomas, Raymond Hutchins, Rex Lawhorn, Jack Owens, Rusty Owens, Malcolm Gunn, John Latshaw.

In lieu of flowers, donations to celebrate Shirley's life may be sent to:  MARC (Marion Animal Resource Connection), 225 Sequatchie Lane, Sequatchie, TN 37374.

Arrangements are entrusted to Rogers Funeral Home, Jasper Chapel, 21 East Fifth St., Jasper, Tennessee 37347.
