Stella Inez Howard, 92, of Chattanooga went to be with the Lord she had served for so long on Friday, November 14, 2008.
The daughter of the late Will and Lydia Bryant, she was the last surviving Charter Member of the South Pittsburg Church of God. She also sang in the choir and enjoyed reading in her spare time.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Van B. Howard; sisters, Grace Smith, Myrtle Hulsey, Mary Howard, Martha Condra and Vidalia Keel; daughters, Virginia Perryman, Patrecia Harden and Martha Mays.
She is survived by her daughters, Lou (Bill) Harbin of Decatur, Georgia, Shirley (Larry) Frazier of Ooltewah, TN; sons, Donald (Gertrude) Howard of Jasper, TN and Jimmy Lee Howard of Connelly Springs, NC; sister, Joanne Frame of South Pittsburg; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Howard will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Monday, November 17, 2008 at 3 PM Central time with Reverends Glenn Thomas and Ronnie Case officiating. Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 1 PM Central until service time on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the South Pittsburg Church of God.
