Steve Looney

Steven (Steve) Looney, age 69, of Jasper, Tennessee, died on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Parkridge Medical Center.

He was born in Jasper, Tennessee on February 25, 1951.

Steve retired from TVA, served several years as an alderman for the Town of Jasper, and was a former TSSAA basketball and baseball official.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jasper.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Keith Looney.

Surviving Steve are his mother, Charlene Looney Young of Chattanooga; his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Looney; sister, Paula Payne of Chattanooga; brothers, Mike (Renee) Looney of Jasper, and Tim (Teresa) Looney of Shelbyville; several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and great nephews.

There will be no public visitation at the funeral home due to Covid.

All Family and friends are welcome to attend a graveside service at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Greg Steele officiating.

Due to COVID the family request everyone to please wear face mask.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the American Diabetes Association or the First Baptist Church in Jasper.
