Ted Smith, 85, of Vero Beach, FL, formerly of Bridgeport, AL died on July 17, 2011.
Son of William Robert and Judy Ferguson Smith, he was a member of the Richard City Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the Jasper VFW. He was a WWII veteran, having served in both the US Army and US Navy. He was a retired sheet metal welder of Local #5. Mr. Smith was also preceded in death by his son, Teddy Lee Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Marie Smith of Vero Beach; sons, Robert Smith of Gainesville, FL and Bill Smith of Vero Beach; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 2 half-sisters, Audrey Stevenson and Anna Mae Peel, both of Shelbyville, TN.
Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 2pm Central Time. Interment to follow in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
