Thelma Harris Peardon-Russell, 88, of the Ladds Community near Jasper, TN, died Sunday, May 19, 2013 in a Chattanooga hospital.
She was born September 1, 1924 in Spring City, TN to the late Calvin and Jeanette Newby Harris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marion Carl Peardon, Sr.; husband, Homer Russell; daughter, Brenda Peardon; three sisters and one brother.
Survivors include her children, Linda (Johnny) Garrison of Rossville, GA, MC (Sherry) Peardon, Jr. of Jasper, TN, and Ricky (Nickie) Peardon of Haletown, TN; sister, Jean Thurman of Spring City, TN; step-children, Norma French of North Carolina, Galon (Phyliss) Russell of Florida; two foster daughters, Betty Smith of Ringgold, GA and Peggy Gravitt of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Greg (Teri) Peardon and Jeff (Stacie) Peardon of Jasper, TN; Leslie (Bobby) McLeroy of Knoxville, TN, Keri Peardon and husband, Timothy Kelly of Eagleville, TN and Tiara Stovall of Haletown, TN; step-granddaughter, Daphine (Greg) Rivenbark of North Carolina; five great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; special friend and helper, Pat Wooten; and many other relatives and friends to cherish her memories.
Funeral services will be held at the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 1pm Central time. Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday from 11am until service time at the funeral home.
