Thomas A. Dobson, 78, of Kimball, TN, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Tommy was known for his quiet strength, generous spirit, and unwavering love for those around him. He spent much of his life as a land surveyor and land developer, a career that reflected his deep respect for the land and a love of being outdoors. Tommy loved all things horses, the Atlanta Braves, SEC Football (especially Alabama), and catfishing on the Tennessee River. His true joy, however, came from time spent with his family and friends. Tommy was deeply devoted to his wife and treasured the family that they built together.

Tommy leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and compassion that will continue to live on through all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Georgia Dobson, and daughter Amelia (Amy) Dobson Parker.

Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Louise (Sissy) Dobson, daughter, Abbygail (Travis) Shields, son, Joshua (Madison) Dobson, grandchildren, Meghan (James) Cooper, Andrew (Felicia) Parker, Luke Dobson, Emma Dobson, Blake Dobson, Boone Shields and great-grandchildren, Ella Cooper, Jack Cooper, Hannah Cooper, Lily Parker, Ian Parker, sisters, Sandra Ramage, Gail (Randall) Walker and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services to honor and celebrate the life of Tommy will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. (CDT) at Rogers Funeral Home, Jasper Chapel with Dale Layne officiating.

Interment will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. (EDT) at Lafayette Memory Garden Cemetery, 3658 N Hwy 27, LaFayette, GA 30728.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 2:00 p.m.  to 5:00 p.m. (CDT) at Rogers Funeral Home, Jasper Chapel, 21 East Fifth St., Jasper, TN.

Pallbearers will be Travis Shields, Luke Dobson, David Cross, Brian Parrish, James Cooper and Andrew Parker.

Honorary Pallbearers are James Henry Mashburn, Alvin Mashburn, Robert Mashburn, Carl Mashburn, Bobby Kay, Randall Walker, Buddy Blevins, DeWayne McKee, Ben Harris, Amir Peleg and Paul Gott III.

Tommy's presence will be missed forever, but his memory will remain forever in our hearts.
