December 30, 1923 – August 10, 2008
Mr. Turney Lee "Pinto" Hamock, 84, of Jasper entered into rest Sunday, August 10, 2008 in a Chattanooga Hospital.
The son of the late Adam Ual and Lillie Mae Caledonia Vesta Poole, he was a US Army Veteran of WWII and was a Golden Gloves Boxing Champoin. He was a member of the South Pittsburg First Baptist Church, the Ironworkers Local #704 in Chattanooga, the VFW and the American Legion.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Lee Hamock; brothers, Jack "Buster," Herman and Gene Hamock; sisters, Odell Sexton, Bessie Hamock and Olene Bearden.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Edith G. Hamock of Jasper; children, Roger & Beverly Hamock of South Pittsburg, Kathy & Wayne McNabb of Jasper, Anita & William Parker of South Pittsburg and Angelia "Cusi" & Don Brown of Jasper; grandchildren, Chad Allen Hamock, Calvin McNabb, Tammy P. Rollins, Leah Hamock, Paige Parker, Kacie M. Howard, Adam Durant Brown, Garrett Parker, Chelsea Rae Brown and Haley McNabb; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Chase, Alivia, Jocelyn, Lilli, Reece and Chloe Soo; sister, Louise Gennoe of Harrison, TN; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at 5 PM CDT with Bishop Daniel Walker officiating. Interment will be in Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball.
The family will gather with receive for visitation on Monday, August 11 from 6-8 PM CDT at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
