Venus Choate, 81, of Dayton, Ohio passed away Friday, October 16, 2009 at Liberty Retirement Community.
Venus was born August 11, 1928 to the late Grant and Stella Blair Johnson of South Point, Ohio. She was Valedictorian of her graduating class at South Point High School and was an avid Bridge Player when her health permitted. She was formerly employed at Wright Paterson Air Force Base and was of the Presbyterian Faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard "Richard" Choate; four brothers, Grant Jr., Billy, Elmer and Lee Johnson; and two sisters, Reoma Cronin and Naomi Fuller.
She is survived by her son, Rick Choate of Dana Point, CA; daughter, Karen Trenary of Coto de Caza, CA; four grandchildren, 2nd Lieutenant Lauren Choate of the United States Air Force, Lindsay Choate of Dana Point, CA, and Alexandra Trenary and Samantha Trenary, both of of Coto de Caza; two sisters, Patricia Johnson Woodrum of Summerville, SC and Eva Zornes of Jackson, Ohio; nieces, Marilynne Geisser of Elgin, Ill., Tamara Coleman and Theresa Runyon of Summerville, SC; nephews, Jim Zornes of Jackson, Ohio, Bobby Hamersly of Norfolk, VA., Tom Fuller and Patrick Fuller of Ironton, Ohio, Bill Johnson of Coal Grove, Ohio, Tommy Woodrum, Michael Woodrum of Summerville, SC and David Durham of Centerville, Ohio; several great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Rogers Funeral Home, South Pittsburg, TN on Tuesday, October 20th at 10am CST.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at New Hope Cemetery in New Hope, TN on Tuesday, October 20th at 11 AM Central time with Reverend Charles Campbell officiating.
