Vesta Holder Rector, 83, of South Pittsburg, TN, died Friday, July 16, 2010 at a local nursing home. The daughter of the late Charles Wallace and Katie Bell Adams Holder, she attended the New Hope Church of God and was a knitter at the South Pittsburg Knitting Mill.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Lee Rector; daughter, Velma Katie Rector Whited; sisters, Georgie Adams, Rachel Hundley, Maggie Matthews; brothers, Frasier Holder, Milburn "Gid" Holder, William H. "Yank" Holder and Garland Riley Holder.
Mrs. Rector is survived by her daughters, Jaquetta Rector Powell Harrison of Jasper, TN and Shirley Lee Dancy of South Pittsburg, TN; son, Lesley Stanley Rector of South Pittsburg; granddaughters, Connie Powell (Dale) Brewer of West Paducah, KY, Lindsey Michelle (Stewart) Pillsbury of Hunt Valley, MD, Nicole W. (Jeromy) Brown of Jasper, Pamela Leigh (Chris) McNatt and Paula Ann (Todd) Elledge, both of South Pittsburg; grandsons, Lesley Stanley Rector, Jr. of New Hope, TN and Herschel Donovan (Michelle) Whited of Bryant, AL; great-grandchildren, Madison Brown, Levi McNatt, Jesse Elledge, Jordan Elledge and Bo Bryant McNatt; several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Vera Roberson of South Pittsburg.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at 2:00 PM Central time. Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, July 17, 2010 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM Central time at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
