Virginia Coppinger Haskew, a long time resident of South Pittsburg, TN, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 17, 2009.
She was born in Whitwell, TN, graduated from Whitwell High School, and from LPN School of Nursing in South Pittsburg. She worked for many years as a nurse in local hospitals and nursing homes, and was a member of First Baptist Church in South Pittsburg. She will be missed by her family and friends to whom she was a devoted mother and loyal friend.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest "Pooster" Haskew, and her second husband, Roy White, Jr., her mother, Estelle Smith, brother, Jimmy Wayne Smith, and sister, Jenny Holly.
She is survived by three daughters, Connie Haskew (Stan) Smith, of Tampa, FL, Marion Ann Haskew (Ken) Brown, of Chattanooga, Linda (Terry) Floyd, of Whitwell, three sons, Ernest "Ernie" (Cheri) Haskew, Jr., of South Pittsburg, Bobby (April) Layne, of Tracy City, Raymond (Constance) White, of Palmer; one sister, Ann (Ken) Turner, of Whitwell; three grandsons, Jonathan Haskew, Cody Layne, Kyle Layne; three granddaughters, Felicia Floyd, Terri Lynn Floyd, Megan White and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at 1:00 PM CST with Rev. Charlie Campbell officiating. Interment will be in Gilliam Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 19 from 5-9 PM, CST.
