Squire Wallace (Watchie) Peoples, 91, of South Pittsburg, TN., passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023.
He was born in Marion County, TN. on November 3, 1931 to
William Vince Peoples and Mary EdaLinda Shoemake Peoples.
He was retired from the local Carpenters' Union #74 and the Marion County Schools System.
Watchie served in the United States Army in South Korea from 1955-1957.
He was a Master of the Royal Secret of the 32 Degree of The Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Marion County Lodge #515.
He served as a Deacon of the First Baptist Church in South Pittsburg, TN.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister and six brothers.
He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Anna Jo (Ann) Middleton Peoples, three sons, Wallace V. Peoples (Tywanna), of Springfield, TN., Danny A. Peoples (Shirley), and Tony E. Peoples (Linda), four grand-children and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. (CST) in the chapel of Rogers Funeral Home of South Pittsburg with Rev. Ronnie Case officiating.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 13, 2023, from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. (CST) prior to the funeral service in the chapel of Rogers Funeral Home.
Mr. Peoples will be laid to rest in the Masonic Garden of Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN.
