Wanda Hood Overstreet, 80, of Jasper, TN died Friday, April 23, 2010 in a local nursing home.
The daughter of the late Hugh Waston and Bennie Gunter Hood, she was a former resident of Dawson, Alabama. As long as her health permitted, she enjoyed flower gardening and exploring flea markets, but her greatest joy and deepest love were for her family. She will be sorely missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Follick Xerxes "Buck" Hood and Max Hood and sister, Helen Phillips.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Don & Elois Edmondson of Jasper; grandchildren, Meredith & Tim Bowman of Jasper and Ernie Edmondson of Valley Glen, CA; sisters, Johnnie Thacker of Attalla, AL and Gayle Mauldin of Gadsden, AL; brothers, Sam Hood and Joe Bill Hood both of Henagar, AL, Raymon Hood and Randy Hood both of Dawson, AL; aunt, Gertrude Hall; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Privat funeral services were held on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper, TN. Interment was in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
