Obituary

William Wesley Farmer, 90, of Lookout Valley, Tennessee died Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at his home following a battle with cancer.

The son of the late John Lewis and Mattie Elizabeth Roberson Farmer, he was a proud Army veteran of World War II, having fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of Lookout Valley Baptist Church and had worked as a crane operator for U.S. Pipe for 32 years. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Ann (Adrian) Hart, three brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lois Bishop Farmer of Lookout Valley; sons, Terry Farmer of Ringgold, Georgia and Jim (Regina) Farmer of Alpharetta, Georgia; daughter, Leisa (Grady) Massingill of Harrison, Tennessee; grandchildren, Michael Hart of Lookout Valley; Taleisa Dooley of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, Ashley Chambliss of Midland, Texas and Amber Farmer of Athens, Georgia; great-grandsons, Gabreil Dooley, Liam Hart and AJ Dennis; brother, Oscar (Rachel) Farmer of Dalton, Georgia; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 11 am Central time on Friday, January 15, 2016 with Rev. Troy Walliser, Rev. Wade Casey and Rev. Darwin Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 5-7 pm Central time at the funeral home.
