Mr. Kenneth Rorex, 78, of South Pittsburg, died Thursday, May 18, 2006 in a Chattanooga hospital.He was a native of Alabama, the son of the late George and Hettie Vaughn Rorex. He was a US Army veteran of World War II, a member of Midway Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for many years, and retired from U.S. Stove Company after 58 years of service. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Knight Rorex; brothers, Elvis, Milton and Robert Rorex; sisters, Marie Blevins, Dorothy Murray and Luna Garner; step-son, Spencer Holland and step-daughter, Faith Holland.He is survived by his wife, Barbara Holland Rorex of South Pittsburg; son, Dennis (Sharon) Rorex of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; daugther, Linda (Jerry) Eckl of Florence, AL; step-son, James (Abbey) Holland of Lafayette, TN; step-daughters, Dawn (Russell) Raulston of South Pittsburg, Cheryl (Tim) Hampton of Smithville, TN, Karen Massey of Lookout Mountain, GA; 5 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Raymond Rorex of Chattanooga and George Rorex of Thomasville, NC; sisters, Nancy Swearengin of Jasper, Mary Poe of Stevenson, AL, Josephine Phillips of Thomasville, NC; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 2 PM CDT, Saturday, May 20, 2006 with Rev. Larry Bolden and Minister James S. Warren officiating. Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends Friday, May 19, 2006 fro 5-9 PM CDT at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
