William Smith

William Smith, born August 2, 1942, referred to as Bill or Smitty, left his earthly body and slipped into his eternal home November 16, 2024. He was 82. Bill had a healthy respect, and a passionate love, for the heavens and was in his glory when he could share his wealth of knowledge to anyone who would listen.

Every chance he got he would tell of his love for Jesus and how thankful he was for all God's blessings. Because of his deep love of God, his heart for giving was immense, and his tender heart was second to none. He simply adored his wife Janice and told her often how much she was loved and appreciated.

Bill voluntarily served his country that he deeply loved in what he often referred to as "Uncle Sam's Canoe Club", the United States Navy in San Diego, California, in the years 1960 to 1966.

Bill is survived by his wife Janice, daughter Darlene and son-in-law Jerry Rayome of Texas, her three daughters: Stephanie, Jennifer, and Allison. Those three granddaughters made him a great granddad of 12 children. His son Bradley and his wife Denise, who reside in Boise, Idaho, have three children: Hudson, Hazel, and Marlee Marie. His only sibling, David Smith, and his wife Carol live in Boulder City, Nevada.

A celebration of his life will be held at New Beginnings Church, 30 Rebecca Ln, Jasper, Tennessee, Friday, November 22, at 11 a.m. with Pastor, Jeremy Guyselman officiating.

There will be no visitation prior to the celebration of Life.
