William "Bill" Swafford, 85, of Jasper, TN died Tuesday, April 9, 2013.
The son of the late U.G. and Mary Graham Swafford, he was a native of Jasper and a graduate of the University of Chattanooga. He was a US Navy Veteran of World War II and a member of the Church of Christ in South Pittsburg, TN.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Parker Swafford; brothers, Paul Swafford and John Swafford.
He is survived by nieces, Barbara (Stewart) Crane of Loudon, TN, Susan Swafford Taylor of Columbus, Ohio and Carol Swafford (Harvey) Church of Columbia, TN; nephews, John Grant (Jennifer) Swafford of Spartanburg, SC, Donald (Jimmie) Leiderman of Jasper; Richard (Lisa) Leiderman of Thompson Station, TN; brother-in-law, Paul (Edeltraud) Parker of Bridgeport, AL; sister-in-law, Susie Swafford of Nashville, TN; several great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 1pm Central on Thursday, April 11, 2013 with Ron Gilbert and Bill Helm officiating. Interment will follow in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday from 11am to 1pm at the funeral home.
