Obituary

Mr. William Thomas Turner, 82, of Jasper, TN died April 3, 2008 in a local nursing home.
The son of the late William Washington and Elizabeth Mauzy Hoge Turner, he was a graduate of the University of Chattanooga, a US Navy veteran of World War II, a member of Jasper Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Olive Branch Lodge #297 F&AM, and the VFW. He retired after more than 30 years with the US Postal Service and retired from the State of Tennessee after 10 years of service at the Welcome Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Ruth McMahan Turner, son, William D. Turner, and a brother, Dr. David Turner.
He is survived by his daughters, Cindy (Sid) Ray of Knoxville, Tn and Terri (James) Church of South Pittsburg; step-son, Robert J. (Pat) Leiderman of Hernando, FL; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at Pine Grove Cemetery in Jasper at 1 PM CDT on Sunday, April 6, 2008.
The family will gather with friends on Saturday from 6-9 PM CDT at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper.
