Obituary

Wilson "Tom" Gray, 85, of Kimball, Tennessee died Monday, May 24, 2010 in a local nursing home.

One of thirteen children born to the late Joe Daniel and Letha Jane Colvin Gray, he was a US Army veteran of World War II. He moved to Rockford, Illinois where he worked for 36 years for BorgWarner Auto Manufacturing. Upon retirement, he returned to his native Marion County to be near his family. Tom was a member of the South Pittsburg Church of God and the UAW Local 251.

He was preceded in death by three sons, Eddie, Tom and Wilson Gray, Jr.; brothers, Fred, Leonard and Lambert Gray; sisters, Billie Ward, Gladys Phillips, Jennie O'Leary, Lena Mae Brown and Virgie Davis.

Tom is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Henderson Gray of Kimball; daughter, Denah Gray of Byron, Illinois; step-children, Michael Walden of Kimball, Gayla Blalock of Mentone, AL and Darrell Walden of Grand Prairie, TX; fourteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Woodrow Gray and Jack Gray of Rockford, Illinois; sisters, Betty Gill and Margie Stone, both of Kimball; daughter-in-law, Betty Gray of San Diego, California; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 from 5-8pm CDT at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.

Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 2pm CDT with Reverends Ronnie Case and Glenn Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
