Harold Edward Janeway, of South Pittsburg, TN, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, known for his deep faith and devotion to his family.
Born in Bridgeport, AL to Rex and Elizabeth Janeway on March 18, 1949, Harold lived a life defined by his values and passions. Through the years, some of his hobbies included fishing, camping, coaching, playing the harmonica, and cheering on the Crimson Tide every Saturday with family and friends. He served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971. He retired from the United States Postal Service after 23 years where he was known as the "mailman". Outside of work, Harold's greatest joys were found in his faith and family. He was a member of Calvary Baptist.
Harold is survived by two sons, Brian Janeway, Josh (Jamie) Janeway; grandchildren, Kaylea Grace Henson, Joshua Cole Janeway; sisters, Clara Hodge, Sandra Ellis, Edna Rodgers, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sheila Kay Davis Janeway, brother Carl Janeway, sister Beatrice Crawford.
A Funeral service will be held at Roger's Funeral Home Chapel in South Pittsburg, TN on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. (CST) with Pastor Ronnie Case officiating.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 12:00 -2:00 p.m. (CST), in South Pittsburg Chapel prior to funeral service.
Mr. Janeway will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Sheila Janeway at Tate Cemetery.
"Roll Tide" forever, Harold. You will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Jacobs, Terry (Mater) Tanner, Fredrick Branford, Jason Lawhorn, Michael Peden and Eric Love.
