Obituary

Margaret Johnson Lanier, 81, of South Pittsburg, TN died Saturday, September 1, 2007 in a Rossville healthcare facility.The daughter of the late Thomas Henry and Mary Coffelt Johnson, she was of the Baptist Faith. She worked for many years as a Secretary and Bookkeeper for Alt Hardware and Baggett Transportation. She was also preceded in death by her three sisters, Sarah Francis, Alice Marie and Geneva; two brothers, Orville and Harvey Johnson; and brother-in-law, Doc Eason.She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Wayne) Tims of Wildwood, GA; grandsons, Wayne Tims, Jr. of Wildwood and Dennis Tims of Bryant, AL; great-granddaughters, Lauren and Hannah Tims both of Fort Oglethorpe, GA; brother, T.D. Johnson of South Pittsburg; sisters, Belle (George) Curtis of Lookout Valley and Barbara Eason of Sequatchie Mountain; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Amy & Isaac Mulligan, Diedre Steele, Nell Stewart, Ann Buffington, Betty & Wayne Vinson and Dana & Tim Little; and all of her dear friends from Chester Powell Senior Apartments.The family would like to give special thanks to Hazel & Ray Burton and Bobbie Lea Young of Wildwood for being such wonderful caretakers for Ms. Lanier. God placed you in our lives at a time of need and we will never be able to fully express our gratitude.Thank you, also, to the staff of NHC in Rossville and Hospice of Chattanooga for the excellent care given to Ms. Lanier.Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at 3:00 PM Central Time with Pastor Pat Davis and Reverend Joe Moore officiating. Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 4-9 PM Central Time on Monday, September 3, 2007 at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.Memorial donations may be made to the college fund being established for Ms. Lanier's great-granddaughters, Lauren and Hannah Tims.
