IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Libba
Bible
December 22, 1929 – November 8, 2018
Elizabeth Conner Bible, 88, of the Haletown community passed away on November 8, 2018.
The daughter of the late Roy and Ellen Harvey Conner, she was raised in South Pittsburg before making Haletown her home after her marriage to Henry Lee Bible.
Affectionately known as "Libba", she and her late husband were entrepreneurs in and around the Haletown community, founding and operating many businesses including two motels, a restaurant and a service station. Libba's compassion for others was evidenced when she worked as a Registered Nurse for nearly 39 years in Marion County at South Pittsburg and Grandview Hospitals as well as a visiting nurse prior to her retirement. Her professionalism as an RN gained her the respect of all those who were her colleagues during her long career as a health care provider.
She was quick witted with a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed the company of her countless friends. She attended the Guild First Baptist Church with her many friends and family.
In addition to her parents, Libba was also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Henry Lee Bible, a sister, Jean Ballard Smith and a great-great-grandson, Judah Weikle.
Survivors include her children, Mike (Linda) Bible, Bob (Betty) Bible, and Candy (David) Royer; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service to commemorate her life will be held on Monday, November 12, 2018, at 1:00 PM, central time, in the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home with Reverend Lloyd Harvill officiating.
Interment will follow in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens, Jasper.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, November 11, 2018, from 1:00-6:00 pm, central time and Monday, November 12, 2018, from 11:00 am-1:00 pm, central time, at the funeral home.
As a remembrance of Libba's love for animals, those desiring may make a memorial contribution in her name to Marion Animal Resource Connection (MARC) or McKamey Animal Center in Chattanooga. Donations may also be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
